Bird of Paradise
Strelitzia reginae, commonly known as Bird of Paradise, originates from South Africa, where it is also nicknamed the Crane Flower. This flower has been grown at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, South Africa since 1773. The large green leaves are good for air circulation and purification due to their size. You will want to place your Bird of Paradise in a site that gets at least six hours a day of sun a day, including hours of direct sunlight, however, if your living room gets very hot midday sun, indirect light during that period will do better. Keep the soil moist, but allow it to dry between waterings.
